Safety data sheets arrive as email attachments, supplier-portal downloads, and scans of scans. Someone files them by hand, and the moment a supplier issues a revision the copy on the shared drive is quietly out of date. Nobody finds out until an auditor asks for the current sheet, or a customer asks for one you are contractually obliged to send.

The work is not hard. It is relentless, and it is invisible until it fails.

From supplier attachment to a current, checked sheet

The SDS agent reads sheets wherever they arrive and turns each one into structured data rather than another PDF in a folder:

• Collect from the inbox, a supplier portal, or a storage folder, without anyone forwarding attachments.
• Extract the identifiers, hazard classifications, and composition data out of the sheet, including the multi-section layouts that defeat plain OCR.
• Compare against the revision already on file, so a re-issued sheet is recognised as a revision rather than filed as a duplicate.
• Route anything ambiguous to a person, with the extracted values and the source page side by side.
• File the current version where your team already looks for it.

What a person still decides

The agent proposes; a person disposes. A sheet whose hazard data disagrees with the revision on file, or whose supplier identity is uncertain, is held for review rather than filed silently. Reviewing a held sheet takes seconds because the agent shows what it read and where it read it.

Where it runs

The SDS agent runs in the Quality Management Center alongside CoA processing, so quality documents share one review queue and one audit trail rather than living in separate tools.
